Initially, part of Belize Aquaculture Limited, Blair Athol Power Company (“BAPCoL”) was spun out as a separate legal entity in 2010. BAPCoL consists of three Wärtsilä 18V32 engines acting as a prime movers driving AVK 3-phase AC generators, each with a maximum output of 8.1 MW.
BAPCoL is an Independent Power Producer (“IPP”) supplying 21.0 MW of Firm Capacity to the National Grid and acts as quick response to stabilise the grid with Black-Starting capabilities.
