Belize Estate Company
Among the longest operating companies in Belize, BEC has been serving customers for close to 150 years. Formerly Belize Estate and Produce Company Ltd, the company was incorporated in the United Kingdom in 1875. In its early years, core businesses included logging/sawmilling, harvesting of chicle, and insurance. And at one time it was the largest landowner in Belize. In 1983 the company was purchased by Bowen & Bowen, which separated the logging and sawmilling from the business, thus creating the Belize Estate Company as it is known today.
BEC is a multi-business transportation and logistics company with a broad and synergistic value chain. It operates in various markets through the following divisions: BEC Motors, Prime Motors, BEC Car Rental, NAPA Auto and Truck Parts, BEC Shipping, and BEC Trucking. And since 1899, BEC has proudly operated as the LLOYD’s agent in Belize.
